Hi everyone, If you are new in this forum this may help you cutting your puzzle mod's stickers by hand. A scissors is enough. If you have this it would be great! So this is how I make my stickers: - Cut a small sheet = puzzle face. - Use your nails to mark on sheet. - Seperate them. - Make the sticker fit the cubie. (*) If you have scanner, skip the first 3 pictures. Just scan the face, flip the image(microsoft office picture manager), print it on white paper and then glue the paper on the back of the decal sheet, and cut it. Anyone have other ideas? Share with me. I hope this help Minh Thang. Ps: yes I know that I should make the red stickers for that face, when I took these images I've just finished making the white and greeen stickers. I chose blue for a brighter look. I still make the red stickers for that face.

I've started cutting my own stickers using a hobby knife, steel ruler and a cutting mat. What do you use to make the smooth curves? Someone suggested nail cutters, but that didn't work so well for me.

To make smooth cuts on the corners I use those craft scissors used to cut wobbly/wavy cuts. You can get them with many different edge shapes, so there will always be one which will suit any corner.

I get used to using scissors, I tried the sharp knife one time but seem like I'm not good at using it. It leave the scratch on the surface. Maybe I will try the scalpel next time. @Pete The Geek: yes Gus is right. Scissors is my choice for the smooth and round corner Or you can follow Mr. Tony Fisher steps here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSNvyuEN5no&feature=plcpThis is an easy way to make the round corner sticker

Does anyone know how to cut round stickers? I use a circle punch, but the edges of the stickers are not neat, when I use the punch on paper the circles are perfect , on sticker not good at all.

I usually use a stencil that I make from plastic sheeting, so each sticker is a perfect match with the other stickers. I scan the face of the cube in and print a version to paper and adjust the stickers as I need to so they are even and fit the face almost perfectly. Then I place the paper on the plastic ssheeting and cut a stencil out. That way I also have them for future use should I want to make another mod or puzzle for a friend or myself to improve the quality of my mods... still meed a massive amout of practice though.

Before I bought my STIKA, I used a drawing software and a printer. I draw the outlines by the software, and reverse the image, and print them to the sheet's reverse side. And later, cut them along the printed lines.

If my puzzle is a Shapeways one I tend to design a sticker template and get it printed along with the puzzle. Thhis does not cost very much. See hereand here. Otherwise, I design the the stickers using a 2D drawing program, print them out onto normal paper, stick this onto the reverse side of the vinyl and cut them out. This makes it easy to re-use the vinyl sheet when it get cut into strange shapes which would probably jam in a printer.

I usually draw round the piece I'm stickering onto the back of the sticker. Then I use an ruler and pencil to mark out the sticker by drawing lines inside the outline, leaving a reasonable border and neatening up. Then I cut out with either a scalpel and ruler or scissors. Lastly, I round off the sharp corners with nail scissors.

I use vinyl 'backing' to mark out my templates, its thicker than paper but thinner than cardboard and plastic sheet, so its easy to cut/shape and manage, yet thick enough to draw around once I get them just right.
For cutting - I've always used scissors (the blue ones pictured here have done all my mods) and I gently snip points and corners on stickers 'twice or more' to round them off, this makes a big difference on the overall appearance of the finished puzzle, but it is alot more time consuming. In the past I had tried to round off the sticker with a knife when its on the puzzle but that often showed by marking the spray paint and plastic.

I think someone mentioned it already but I just scan the face, mirror it, print it out then cut them with a steel ruler and xacto knife.
