I ordered the cube with the pegs. Is there a link to the 'Rubik's' bandaged cube? I wonder how many bandaging tiles you get with this one.

I know the cube's information about 10 months ago.
When I talked Mega-House's my partner about my bandage-able cube idea, he said the Seven Towns is already making the cube.

And their cube's mechanisms are not similar to the other cube.

The Japanese Amazon website lists it as "In Stock".
Apparently it was released Nov. 1st.

But it looks a bit bumpy.
I wish instead they would make it so you could replace the single cubie tiles with the bigger ones.
Similar to the ones with the pegs. (which are impossible to remove by the way!)

When someone else starts producing puzzles, that was not their idea, this site explodes with threads about KO puzzles.
When Rubik's brand produces one, it's OK.
There were so many producers of 4x4x4 cube and nobody shouted that they are KOs.
Though if someone produces another 7x7x7 or 8x8x8 - it's a KO.
Does that mean KO only applies to Verdes cubes or any latest inventions and is Rubik's brand immune to it?

This has been discussed before. Hidetoshi was working with the company to produce this puzzle. While his was in the factory, the one produced by cube twist came out. Simultaneous development.

The KO factor of this has been dealt with already.

As far as bandaging is concerned, I don't recall anyone patenting one. Mefferts made a version back in the early to mid-90's. I made one in 1994 using paper stickers because I was teaching a class and was asked to make a harder version by one of my students. I'd never seen a bandaged version before then. Does that mean I made a KO before I knew bandaged cubes existed? No. It means I had an idea and went with it.

I just had a few ideas stolen by big produces and now their rights are protected, not mine.
So I think there's no justice in the world and think "sod them"
I have the right to support KO producers, who steal their ideas too!
They had a choice to make too, that's all.

I'm not going to argue any point with you. I just want to say that you have the right to purchase whatever you wish. KO or not. We don't care, but we do care when policy is flouted. My previous post was in regards to your asking about this particular puzzle being copied. I simply told you the brief decision that was made by this forum.

If you had ideas taken by big companies, you need to take it up with them, not with TP. We can't do anything about that, we can only enforce our own policies.

I am trying to understand the issue being discussed here, perhaps you can help. Here is my understanding:

1.) The concept of a bandaged cube has existed for decades. People have been doing this with stickers and tiles for a long time.
2.) Two companies seem to have chosen to produce plastic bandage kits at roughly the same time.
3.) Vadim has had some ideas stolen

So based on #1 it is a bit hard to call *any* bandaging kit KO, but if my understanding of #2 is incorrect and you have strong evidence that one company saw the product of the other and thereafter decided to copy it, certainly let me know. This is what Rox means by "contact a moderator before posting". We would like to be able to apply our policy in the best way possible but we need information to do so. Generally we tend to have access to a number of people with information so I think we do OK, but it never hurts to contact us privately to give us info. We may not have had it.

Regarding #3, I'm sorry if this happened but I would need more information to know if it is relevant to #1 and #2. If not, why is it in this thread?

I think what Roxanne means is that this site can't really "fix" anything regarding IP protection. We do our best to honor what we see to be original work, and restrict the disrespect of those being copied, but that authority only applies to this site.

If you feel your original work is being copied and this site has content promoting that copied work let us know (privately is preferred). We'll certainly investigate and take appropriate action.

Hi Dave,
This is nothing to do with production of bandaged cubes.
This is about application of KO label to puzzles and the way some members of this site are "protecting" inventors.
It just seems to be selective, that's all.
They should either speak out for all such ideas or not at all.
Thanks for trying, but I don't think my problem is solvable.
Let's not discuss it further.

As you wish. Perhaps following up in private will be easier. Regardless of whether or not I can be of any assistance I'd like to at least understand what is being discussed.
