Does anyone know of a good/cheap method of shipping a 4 pound package from the States to Singapore? I would like tracking and a signature if possible. I'm not sure if the U.S. post office can offer a signature required thingy.

I don't think the postal office offers such a service. I don't live in the US, but when I sent a package to Japan with signature required, I never received the signature. At the PO I had to stick some kind of card to the package which would be signed and mailed back to me. Never happened. I think that you would have a similar experience.
I guess your best bet is to go with a courier like FedEx or UPS, but that comes at a significant price tag.

If you send something as registered mail then the receiver will most probably have to sign for it, but you will not have tracking information or actually receive the signature. Over here the postal office does offer a traceable service (TNT) but that most probably isn't available in the states and the tracking info is very spotty, anyways.

Don't rely on me. I've not a trip planned for back home for at least 6 months. I'm pretty sure he wants it before then.

Fed ex, or DHL. I often have stuff shipped DHL. I've never had a problem with it.

I ended up just going with the post office. Unfortunately Fedex, UPS and DHL were all over $100 which is crazy because my wife's work has an account with Fed Ex and it would only be $30, but unfortunately their accounting department would have no way of charging me for it.

I'll cross my fingers that it gets their in a reasonable amount of time.
