It has been a long time since we have had a Northern California meet up, and with the PAW in my care for the next week or so now is the right time.
I will be out of town this weekend so that isn't an option, leaving us with an evening this week after work.

The evening of Thursday 8/30/2012 works best for me, and I am choosing downtown SF as a location to make it convenient for most in the area. Details to follow, but post or PM me if you can attend so we can get a sense of attendance.

VMWorld (VMware's trade conference) is in SF this week and my office is just a short walk away. Given that I work for them I was able to have access for a few hours today to help answer some View client security questions and who did I bump into after the lecture but our very own Jin H. Kim.

Jin has been busy and away from the forum for a bit but it was great to see him. He'll be in town until Thursday afternoon, and sadly leaving right before our meet up.

Great timing to bump into him, but poor timing to miss him by so little.

I'll have the PAW with me and perhaps I can show it to him earlier in the day.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to book the TechShop's conference room Thursday. My fault for the last minute timing. They had everything *but* 6pm-8pm, exactly the hours we would need!

So with that option out I think I'll default to my work, which is right off of Montgomery BART station. The address is:
71 Stevenson, 13th floor

I really recommend taking BART as there isn't much parking around, it is expensive and I don't know how late it stays open. If you are coming from the south bay I recommend going to Fremont or Millbrae and taking BART from there (no crazy drivers!).

This isn't quite ideal because the lobby locks up at 7:00pm after which you need a key card or someone to come and get you and I can't spend the entire evening watching for people.

So what I'll do is perhaps say we start at 6:45pm (get people in before the lobby locks up) and I'll check down stairs every 30 minutes or so for late comers.

If you are joining in, please PM me so I have a sense of how many and when you will be showing up.

I see references to "tomorrow" and references to "Thursday". Which day are we planning to meet? Tomorrow is the 29th and Thursday is the 30th.

For what it's worth, Thursday (the 30th) is much better for me.

I'd really like to see more hand-modded and cast puzzles. Everything I'll bring will be SLS printed so I like seeing the other customs.

Still sad that mine were inaccessible due to proximity to sleeping baby.

I had a great time!!! I touched more rare puzzles over a few hours than I could ever have in a life if I didn't go.

Thank Dave for organizing this meetup. It's good to see so many friends and so many new puzzles. I wish we could have more meetups like this in the bay area.
