Seriously. Like, way the heck more. Dozens more. Hundreds more.

I wish I could contribute some myself but that's not currently an option for me. :(

Acknowledged.
As the crowd might already have guessed it is not the unwillingness of me which prevents that but the lack submitted images.
As I have said on several ocassions: I will add any contribution which makes sense for the museum.
Pictures of mechanisms definitely make sense.

Now that we are discussing changes to the museum, I have to ask a question. Why is there no link to the forum thread where the puzzle was released (this of course only applies to custom puzzles). Because it would be a lot of work, possibly too much, to edit every single custom puzzles museum page, could you/we at least put it in new puzzles museum pages?

If this is not possible, could anyone be so kind to explain why?

Several reasons:
  • A lot of work.
  • There is no way to add links before a new entry is created. That means an additional step of work. See the next point.
  • Usually I enter descriptions, dates, etc. several days before entering a new puzzle, because in the meantime the image editing has to be done. It prooved to be more efficient to do things (entering 10-20 descriptions, editing ca. 50 images, accepting and uploading everything) in batches.
  • I hate to say that but in my perception this holds true: Many original threads do not contain much information beyond inventor and year. This holds true even for my inventions in many cases.
  • The museum was created before a time when half of its entries were presented on the accompanied forum.

In the past 1.5 years there were 3 (!) submissions for new links and all were gladly accepted by me.
If anybody wants to add more links to existing entries (see #2 again for reference) please feel free. I will accept all these submissions after checking them.

Maybe if Sandy can get rid of the hindrance in #2 I will do it by myself for new entries.

One last note:
Sometimes I may sound agressively unhelpful on suggestions but I do not get paid for maintaining the museum.

Yes gentlemen, stand up and be counted! It's your museum as well.

And you have done an amazing amount of work since you took over as curator.
