A few months ago I bought 700g of Piracetam. After three weeks I saw an abundantly clear difference. I was considering trying out Aniracetam or Oxiracetam. Can anyone vouch for any of these?

ATTN mods: These drugs are unscheduled.

As a pharmaceutical drug development executive/consultant and scientist, I would never take these drugs because: a) they are clinically unproven, especially long-term safety; b) they have no clear biological target or mechanism of action (I don't trust what I don't understand); and c) I don't have any medical need for them. In other words, I think the risks outweigh the benefits. However, I am intrigued and think more research should be done on these drugs.

Although I do not have nearly as many qualifications as you, I wholeheartedly agree. I believe it is all placebo and ripe territory for scams

After extensive reasearch (20 seconds on google and wikipedia), I can confirm that yes, these things seem like a scam

It's a legit scientific paper, but quite old and not a very prestigious journal considering the implications, so the quality of methodology and peer review may be quite weak. I need to read it through properly, but don't want to pay for the download. Is this all you could find, or are there other papers to support, or even contradict these findings? If several papers give different conclusions, then this result could be just a random fluke, or bad science...

PS. Did you take your profile picture before or after you started taking these drugs?

My profile pic is Andy Samberg. And now I feel stupid for not having looked more into this before. I only started using Piracetam because of a friend on his way to med school who uses it.

Thanks for the references. The results seem mixed/inconclusive or negative, so the drug probably doesn't work.
