I just finished making myself a Megamorphix today, Its a puzzle I wanted for some time but I only just got around to making it. I made square tubing for the longer extensions using 1mm plastic sheet and capped it all with the same, the smaller triangle extensions were spare offcuts from other 4x4x4 mods. Its fully stickered and finished, but I havent taken those pictures yet, I'll do them in the morning (its just gone midnight here). Heres some of the progress pictures. Cheers

A much cleaner build than my own. Well done. Can't wait to see the finished product!

That looks like so much work requiring so much precision. Good job. Way beyond what I have the time / skill / motivation for.

what did you use to cut the tubes? If you use a saw to cut and then sand down, the method is like mine, but the process is very slow.

Thanks everyone. Yes Minh, I think we do it the same way. I cut the tubes with a small hacksaw close to where they should be and then glued all the extensions on, then using a dremel I removed any excess a little closer, and then the final shape was fine tuned using sandpaper on wood. All the joins where the plastic sheet capping meet were filled with milliput and then smoothed. My motivation for building like this is the enjoyment of working with my hands, I agree, it is a lot of work, but I love the process Cheers. Heres the finished puzzle.

Looks like you used the exact same colors I ordered from cubesmith too! I feel so one-upped! But seriously, what a fantastic job. I hope mine will turn out half as well. Did you hand-cut the stickers or are they machined?

Yours looks great already too, I was amazed when I saw your pictures last night, that I had been making the same puzzle, in the same way, at about the same time, and bearing in mind that this is quite an old puzzle now, you don't see many about. Yes, I handcut the stickers for all my puzzles, this one doesn't take too long, its those Gear Cube mods that test the patience in cutting stickers by hand Colors are - Red, White, Yellow & Bright Blue.

Wow I am bummed out, I couldn't find a good picture of the megamorphix in constructions like yours, and I really wanted to get started. My twisty puzzles account was still being verified, so I tried to figure it out myself. I only truncated on corner so far but I truncated it all the way into 2 of the center pieces, thinking that was what I was supposed to do. Is there anyway I can still continue? I hope there is. I anyone needs a picture if dont know understand what I've done then please tell me.

@ Squircifer - I'm not sure what you mean by un pasted ? Do you mean before the extensions are stuck on ? @ PieFilmProductionsd Yes a picture would be good. I think you can continue, you would have to make the other 3 cuts the same as what you've already done. Andreas may know for sure, I think his version here was made by overcutting ? http://twistypuzzles.com/cgi-bin/puzzle.cgi?pkey=2498
