Hi,

I continue my series of cubes with magnets and based
on "metal" sphere - Split Mixup cube. This cube turns
as normal Mixup cube, and at he same time if a middle layer
is split, there are 4 layers. This variation of the cube
contains split centers, borders as well as normal parts.
There are 2 normal and 4 split centers, 4 normal borders,
4 + 4 split borders of type I and II. My kit has full set
of all pieces, it means any combination can be assembled.

The 3D-model of Mixup cube designed by grigr (Evgeniy Grigoriev)
was used as a base for Split Mixup. Then the model was improved
and transformed to Split Mixup by Matthew Ray.

Split parts have small magnets for stability, the movements
are very smooth. Enjoy!

That is amazing.

Please tell me that is a render and not a photograph. If you had rounded the corners of the stickers a bit it would look even more realistic. May I ask what software you used to make this image? It looks very very nice.

It is a render as far as I can tell. Is this puzzle going to have magnets? I really hope it won't.

It is a sub program within solidworks that does the renderings.
I will continue my series of magnetic cubes.
