Poly shape- puzzles are an old friend of mine. Recently I figured out how to cut puzzles on a laser-cutter that became recently availbale near my place. So I'd cut puzzles with tiles made from 6-7-8 squares and 6-7-8 trinangles (full sets of tiles including the ones with holes of course).

I'd made two of the octiamond 6-color wheel (20 cm diameter). I'm willing to sell one, but acrylate is quite expensive. PM me with a reasonable offer. (This one is sold, I'll try to make two or three extra)

- The heptomino circle was made by me in 1987, this solution is by Edo Tmmermans (2005)
- The irregular hexiamond shape has 12402 solutions. I know of no frame with more, please beat me!
- The heptiamond is a solution to the 126/42 problem. First solved by Pieter Torbijn, full analysis by me in 1991 proved there are 55 solutions.
- The octamino frame has three 29x34 rectangles. Unit size i 1 cm, I still don't know where to put it

Oh, wow. These are nice! Why not make some sliding-block puzzles, too?

My family actually owns a laser engraver for our trophy/awards business and I've always though about making puzzles like this. We don't have the material for it though.

Never thought of that, might do that, thanks for the tip.


The laser I used works fine with plywood. Is available everywhere and also much cheeper.

I have some bits of acrylate left. I'll make two or three extra of the six color octiamond wheels.

Our laser works with virtually anything
We have wood specially made for lasering but I've always wanted to use colored acrylic. It looks much nicer I think.
