The title says it all. I'm trying to put a hyperlink into a Christmas photo that will be on my webpage. I have paint and Adobe Illustrator CS3 and photoshop CS3 um TuxPaint (but I think that is bugs).
Help please. I want it to look something like this So when I click a number the page pops up.

What you want to use is the map tag. You can try searching for it in that page or try a tutorial.

Thanks. But since I don't know how to program, that does me no good. I know there must be just a button I can hit to make this work.

a template for dummies!

You need to create an image map to do that. It's actually quite simple but I only know it in Dreamweaver. I used the same thing for the big photo on my main website page- http://tonyfisherpuzzles.net . You are creating clickable hotspots. If you have a help option then do a search for image map or hotspots. You should be able to do it all with out fiddling with any html. I think it was Tom who came to my help when I asked the same question a few years back.

I used image mapper to create my starting page at http://helm.lu (no longer up-to-date)
but I guess poor man's mapper is best for you Rox.

It is for dummies Frank. Seriously. I use webs.com as a host and they just have a simple template that I use. The blog is over on blogspot and they too have templates ready made.

I am revamping my webpage and hope to have it done by next Christmas. I thought a clicky overall photo would be nice, and I also wanted to link to a photo in an up-coming blog post...I have since worked out that the blog can't do it, so it's a hastle through google docs and hosting a page or two on my own webpage....
that much I've worked out.

Adobe Dreamweaver is a web development/editing program. There is a student/teacher version available for a significant discount ($149 instead of $399).
The Native American circle thing with feathers is a dreamcatcher.

I have that Program. Matt bought me the Adobe professional suite thing a few years back when I got frustrated by the program the Uni had for making PDFs. I'll look into it.

Here's a Dreamweaver CS4 screenshot.
If Dreamweaver knows about your Website (where are your sources and on your computer and how to connect to your webspace) you can simply connect a thumb with a larger file by drag and drop: Mark the picture or text you want to link with the mouse, then press the left mouse button on the icon right to the "Hyperlink" and move it (button still pressed) to the (larger) image you want to link to it. Then the Hyperlink text field will be filled automatically and the necessary HTML code will be generated. If you want to open the new image in the same browser tab, your choice on "Target" (in German: "Ziel") should be "_self", if you want to open another tab, it is "_blank". For other features, as overlay pictures, you'll need JavaScript (another lesson).

On the attachment you can see the link of one of my pages (right) and the according HTML code (center pane).

Of course - as others mentioned - I'll help you more in detail or do this for you.

I you want to make the whole image a link, <a href="link><img src="image"></a>.

if you want a rectangular section to be a link, you can slice the image and use multiple images, linking just the one you want to be an image.

The only way I could sort this on my blogwas to make a linked pdf that was uploaded to google docs then just a photo of it online. A real pain in the bum. I'm still trying to sort the webpage thing.

Rox, can you see the code when you edit your site? On Dreamweaver I have normal view, code view and both together. Someone should be able to talk you through it.
