At this moment, Shapeways prices are not shown in the Twisty Puzzles Museum, see e.g.

If I understand Andreas correctly, the "rule" is that only mass-produced puzzles are marked with a price. But Shapeways could be considered mass-produced. Just order a few hundred of one particular Shapeways puzzle, and get it delivered to your house in a few weeks. So I think the Shapeways price could be added to the museum.

Oh, and many thanks to Andreas for doing such a good job on the Museum!!

I would agree that it seems reasonable to list the Shapeways price until there is a mass-produced price to enter. It might lead us into a grey area with people who have "mass produced" 50 puzzles in their basements, but maybe we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

Anyone have any objections?

Tony Fisher "mass produced" several of his puzzles.
Dave Litwin produced several Elementals.
Aleh built several Brillics before it was truly mass produced.

This means: The grey area contains ca. 50 puzzles.
Puzzle made with Shapeways are no problem because I always enter "Shapeways" as producer. Every can recognize what "Original price" means in this case.

I'm always a fan of more imformation. Take this entry for example:

http://twistypuzzles.com/cgi-bin/puzzle.cgi?pkey=1501

Should this be broken into 2 entries in the Museum?

One entry would be for the Caution Cube and list Shapeways as the Producer and list Shapeways original price. The other entry would be for the Gear Cube and list Uwe Meffert as the Producer and list his price. It would have a different year of release, etc. Maybe both entries could mention (or link to) the other to keep the history clear.

In cases of unique puzzles... be it a one-of-a-kind or the first signed prototype that was sold on eBay (or other auction site) I wouldn't mind seeing a record of the value of some of these very rare puzzles. Sort of like this:

http://twistypuzzles.com/cgi-bin/puzzle.cgi?pkey=1477

Though I see it says "The first auctioned for $2250 on Ebay in 2008." And when I check here it looks like it sold for $2275. Not sure why the difference at the moment. But I'd find it interesting if the Museum could sort rare puzzles like this by their sale price.

Just an idea I wanted to throw out there. Granted you give an inch someone like myself is going to want to take a mile. :)

Carl
