Is the Maker Bot good enought to make puzzles?

I was wondering if the maker bot 3d printer would work well with puzzles. There was a topic on this before where this was discussed and I was wondering if anyone has tried it out. Also they have a (I think its semi-new) 0.4mm extrude tip now, which I'm sure would really help with the quality.

I don't think it's quite good enough for puzzles. From the samples I saw at Maker Faire, the newer models (AC nozzles and other improvements) make significantly better prints, but still has a way to go for custom puzzles, main issues are still accuracy problem and overhang capability.

I have almost unlimited access to my uncle's makerbot, and I've recently been designing gifts for people in Rhino and printing them out with it. I've tried a few different puzzles, and so far I've had no success. However, I still think that this could be useful for SOME puzzles. It's also very useful for shape mods, which I plan on trying out soon.

I like the way he used the 3D printer, it pulled it out of like, NOTHING!!

I will definitely get one of those! (not Maker Bot)

I have access to a BitsFromBytes printer at my new job. I'll see if I can make a simple puzzle from it. Any suggestions? It can't have overhang beyond about 45 degrees at the very most.

Already tried this out?

I saw the specs of the Education kit version, and am wondering if the tolerance is OK for puzzles.
(I can imagine that in some time the puzzle creators here will start buying such home / semi-pro devices. Euro 1.600,- is not that huge investment. And performance will likely go up (and prices somewhat down?))

Any progress on doing this? Do you have access to a MakerBot? I am also in Wichita and am interested in doing something similar.
