Hey forum,

The redi 3x3, as the name suggests, is a combination of Oskar's Redi cube and a standard 3x3.

The turning quality is decent, but it is not perfect. I think this is due to a shapeways printing error (the core is not perfectly spherical and it causes problems)

This puzzle will be for sale through my shapeways shop sometime later this week.

Solving wise, this puzzle is much more interesting than I anticipated. I used a "3x3 reduction method" to (try) and solve it, and it doesn't seem very suitable. I have done a three solve attempts,
and one one of them, I ended up with an oll parity, on another, I got a pll parity, and on the third, I got lucky, and was able to solve the puzzle. Any suggestions on a better way to solve it? maybe corners, then edges, followed by centers?

Awesome! I especially like how they look so similar (this and the 3x3x3) except for the center x.

Eric,

This is a very nice combination, I really like it. Kudos!

Would it be possible to create a version that would be suitable for mass production? You should seriously talk to Uwe about this.

Skarabajo.

A great new Shapeways puzzle is announced. I promise myself I must get it. I save up some money. I spend it on (un)necessary items like food and petrol. An even better Shapeways puzzle is announced. I save up some money ... :(

BUT I WILL BUY THIS ONE. IT IS AWESOME!

Bad Thing: really easy to solve (edit: i read your description: can't you solve centers and then 3x3? It's 3 cycles on each puzzle you shouldn't have parity)
Good thing: IT'S FREAKING AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great job Eric !!!

I think a Mosaic 4x4 is more appropriate.
