Cross-shaped DaYan Gem Cube 1

I used pieces from an old 3x3x3 to extend. Pieces were capped with polystyrene sheet. Stickers were cut by hand.

No, the sticky-outy bits don't twizzle like a Cross Cube.

wonderful! possibly the most difficult variant of the gem cube II created.
if you made this from a gem cube III, you'd be able to add turning for the crosses as well. that would make an awesome puzzle!

The dayan gem III is supposed to be the concept 11 right? It would then turn around all faces, so the faces and corners of a cube.

I thought this was a Gem I, not a II. DaYan is making so many gems, I'm losing count.
I don't think making a version with rotatable extensions is as 'easy' as it first seems.

Sorry, I usually lose interest halfway through making stuff - it's a wonder anything gets finished.

Yes, they only just miss the extensions when rotated - the extensions are inset by a fraction of a millimetre and also the filleting is extra heavy to avoid scuffing.
