I'd love to see the instances where turns are blocked.

Nice build but way to extreme for my taste and here's why. Why can't the green red edge piece in the second picture be on every edge minus the color then in my humble opinion it would be a true gear minx. or wouldn't that work?

It wouldn't work. All gear puzzles turn the two sides next to it. The problem is that there are 5 sides which can all be geared with the same side, and so the puzzle wouldn't turn. I'll let someone else who is better at explaining say it. :lol:

I came up with the idea of a geared tuttminx, with gears on all the edges between 2 hexagonal faces.

Here is a picture of what I mean:

Although I wouldn't like it as a futtminx, that would really mess up the gearing.

I was talking about a Megaminx with faces that turn one opposite to the other... but then again that proved to be possible by making a gear master pentultimate and changing it back to a megaminx...

And the geared tuttminx would have too much friction... sadly :wink:
