Any Dubstep fans here? I would think that there might be, especially amongst those of you in the UK. I've recently been getting into Dubstep, and I am working on expanding my Dubstep collection, so I'm interested to hear your favourite tracks and artists.
I would say that my favourite artists are:
Burial, Chrispy, Skrillex, Dubba Jonny, and Bar9.
Some of my favourite tracks are:
Split The Atom (Bar9 Remix: Noisia) The Wrestler (Helicopter Showdown) Strung Out (Bar9) Home VIP (Dubba Jonny) Team Killer ft. Krypton (Chrispy) Predator (Chrispy) Sirius (Mimosa) Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Noisa Remix: Skrillex) In For the Kill (Skrillex Remix) Etched Headplate (Burial) Near Dark (Burial)
I've been listening to a lot of Dubstep podcasts in order to find new tracks and artists, but sometimes it's hard to tell exactly where in a mix you are, so the track listing doesn't help me.
If you've got some suggestions for me, I love to hear them!

I LOVE FILTHY DUBSTEP! It's not as popular in the United States but hey, that's what the internet is for. Besides the artists you have listed I'd like to include Zed's Dead, Tek-One, and Flux Pavillion.

Yes dubstep is great music! Especially the classic dubstep sound.
Since I am from Denmark, I have to say 2000f, and his OHOI! crew
Bar9 is nice!
Listen to these as well:
Suhk Knight Kromestar Rusko (ofcourse)
If you are into the filthy stuff, here are a few pieces I like alot!
Skism - The Blank (16 Bit Remix) Twisted - Dirt Cluster Propa Tingz - Babylon's Scared (16Bit Remix) Datsik - Jenova Project
heavier and heavier
Statix - Purgatory (at 1:50)
Then some canadians took it to some ravy place...
DZ - Down Bombaman - Fat Camp

My friend tells me that the song at (0:10) in this video is dubstep. I dunno, but I quite like it!

I quite like dubstep, but I prefer other stuff. It is popular over here though. When doing chromatography in Chemistry, the baseline has to be a dirty, dirty baseline. Alex

Like Alex, dupstep is alright, but I prefer other genres, mainly comedy (I love The Lonely Island ).

If anyone is into Dubba Jonny, his "The Bruv Where Can I Get That Track EP" is awesome. Dubba Jonny is offering it for free, so it can't hurt to give it a once over. If you like the Chrispy track Predator, check out the Dubba Jonny track Liyaan, it is amazing. Also Big Bad Wolf. The whole EP has actually given me a new respect for Dubba Jonny, because a couple of their other tracks are horrible. I first started listening to Burial, who is really quiet. I was told he was Dubstep, but he's definitely not filthy. However I listened to his album Untrue seriously 100 times. It really calms me down when I get stressed at work. Also I forgot to mention Mt. Eden. The track Gambler is awesome, and his remix of Hide&Seek by Imogen Heap is great. @c1829 Have you heard Roll Out by Chrispy? That's also a Transformers Dubstep. That track is what made me start listening to him. Plus the mix he did on Filth FM a while back. @Sigurd I've heard a bit of Rusko and Datsik. The track Swagga comes to mind. @Jack Lopez I have a couple of Flux Pavillion Tracks, but I haven't really gotten into him that much. I have I Can't Stop of course, and The 808 Track. I've been listening to a lot of hip hop and rap lately. I've been really interested in Japanese and German rap, and recently I've started getting into Korean Rap. I'm really trying to get more music from different countries because I'm really interested in languages. Also, I really like the track from that first link, that's going into my favourites! If you've got time to listen to Podcasts you might like E-LO Liquid Lounge SETz. The third podcast on the list had about 10 minutes of Hip Hop/Rap Dubstep @ APJ and Luke I shouldn't have assumed although, I swear whenever I listen to a Dubstep podcast some British dude is always talking all over the tracks. Actually I want to hear a Geordie DJ doing some announcements, that would be awesome! I actually listen to a lot of other genres as well, and as much as I like Dubstep, I think I might like Japanese Hip Hop/Rap even more.

Glad I could help you build your dubstep library! Yeah it's hard enough to find good hip-hop/rap and dubstep separate from one another. Finding good mixes of them together is ridiculous!

I find dubstep to be one of the worst types of music as well. I'm not listening to classical and I love drum and bass. DF + DT all the way, and neither would be anywhere without bass or drums. Then again, there is nothing wrong with the violin or other classical. In fact, Heavy Metal is actually just Classical music amplified, so I see no reason not to like either one. It's a matter of opinion; don't just throw out remarks that are meant solely to be taken offensively.

I like when people really branch off - and this guy reinvented the genre if you ask me if you don't know him yet, you gotto check him out:
Skrillex!!!
I now see you mentioned him in the top post, Near, but I have not heard of him before - but after I discovered him today, I am sold. He is my new idol hands down.
I myself, is not even near novice yet. So I will keep having fun, until I feel home. Then I am going to make some personal stuff as well...

Those are some awesome tracks Garret. I'd heard of that guy before, but never really bothered to check out any of his tracks. I'm particularly fond of "Get the Money" now. It made me think of the Mt. Eden track "Gambler", though they are quite different styles. I'm telling you Sigurd, go on iTunes and get "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" by Skrillex. Throw in his new remix of the Benny Benassi track "Cinema". "Cinema" Is definitely one of my favourite tracks of all time right now. Skrillex is definitely going somewhere, his tracks are just insane. Also thanks to Jack Lopez, Omar LinX is already working his way up the play counts on my iPod. For those of you who also like Hip Hop/Rap Check out "Dubbin Home" by Omar LinX.

I would argue that that is what makes the track so great! The buildup is so great, and then the bassline drops and it takes on a life of it's own.

Does anyone else listen to Slugabed? I found his stuff last year and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. They say he does a variety of genres like hip hop, dubstep, and grime. I did think that he had a bit of a dubstep influence to him. Check out Gritsalt, and see what you think.

Did someone say dubstep?
Check out Havocndeed (vindicta is catchy and stuck in my brain).
Kode9 does some sick stuff!
I'd never tell someone to listen to Rusko, Skrillex (people actually like?), or Caspa if they wanted the real classic dubstep sound. Borgore and brostep is not the same, honestly.
I'm getting a pretty big collection of dubstep going, and if there's interest, I can do a live stream of some stuff some time. I've got interest in starting producing a bit too, so that's always cool.

At this point, however, dubstep is becoming more of a macrogenre and less of a division of electronic. I don't see the point in arguing exactly what genre something is, I'd rather spend that time listening to anything I like. Not accusing you of this, but I've found the dubstep community is full of bashing miscategorizing certain artists/sounds. That said, I'm loving the Havocndeed!

All you dubstep fiends...would this track be considered dubstep, brostep, what? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRGHwPqBgJgI'm still not quite clear on what distinguishes the two... I get what distinguishes certain artists like Datsik from dubstep, don't get me wrong, DatsiK is pretty dope, but its not the same. I've read that its the midrange that distinguishes brostep from dubstep, but I don't really get it

Look back at the original stuff for dubstep. Some people say all you need for dubstep is the dubstep beat. My understanding is brostep tends to be popular in clubs and such (hence BROstep, like 'what up, bro?!') and has more emphasis on wobbly bass and hard drops, instead of making something enjoyable for anything else. That one by Zed's Dead was also put into an Omar LinX song produced by Zed's Dead. I really like that one by Emalkay, and the one by Tek-One is outstanding. I've really been starting to like the more mellow Dubstep Tunes. I still like the filthy club bangers, but sometimes the other stuff is much better for relaxing. Jackie Boy (Pro. by Zed's Dead) - Omar LinX Dubbin Home - SketchI've really been getting into some of the California Dubstep artists lately, actually now that I think about it, it's pretty much just Mimosa, but I have been getting into some more Cali artists as of late such as Tokimonsta, and I believe Teebs is from Cali? I readily admit that I don't know the difference between various subgenres of electronica, but I see MiM0SA mentioned several times in this thread -- I have a few albums by (him? her? them?) and enjoy them when I'm in that sort of mood.
Currently I'm really enjoying Fabriclive.37, it lives in my car. That's the one mixed by Caspa & Rusko. Whenever Rusko's "Jahova" comes on I feel inordinately pleased.

I suppose technically a lot of Mimosa's tracks can't really be considered dubstep, even the tracks that I posted, because I don't think that any of them are at 140 BPM. However, he does use that wobbly base, which I feel is a key component of Dubstep, so it has a Dubstep feel, at least for me.
I usually listen to Mimosa when I'm stressed out because it's so chill, it calms me down.

Dubstep is a tricky style - some love it, some can barely tolerate it.
As for good Dubstep artists, there's a few I'd recommend in particular: WillPower Laurent Garnier (classic German dubstepper) EliteFerrex (Look him up on YouTube, brilliant techno/dubstep artist) Daft Punk (don't tell me you don't know these guys)

Dubstep is cool, though I'm more of a fan of Drum and Bass stuff (check out Liquicity). And while I'm a fan of electronic music in general, I absolutely HATE when people associate it all with Dubstep. DnB != Dubstep.
