Hey forum, here is my version of the royal skewb. It is cubic, with non proportional cuts, and it has an edge length of 57mm, meaning it is the size of a normal 3x3. I wanted to test a new type of mechanism that had not been utilized in a higher order before, and this was the result. It passed the test well enough where I will scale it up to something truly insane in the future. The turning is very good, but I'm not 100% happy with it, so I am going to do v2, and I will sell that one. It will have to be slightly larger, but i would say 65mm edge length is a good guess. Stickering this puzzle took almost 9 hours, because each tiny little sticker had to be individually separated, and super glued on. It was a painstaking process, and actually resulted in me having blurry vision at the end. Stickers were cut by Eitan. Video

This looks so cool. I love the deepness of each cut, even if it looks a bit thin.

Awesome, gorgeous puzzle. I like the way you rounded the corners on the stickers. I can't image the tediousness of putting them on one-by-one, but the effort really paid off.

@Monopoly: There was a tetrahedral version of this made a while back by Drewseph (I believe).
Congratulations! I have been waiting for this since I first saw the tetrahedral version!

What a nice addition to your already stellar line of puzzles. Good job. I wish it were proportional though. PS: I thought you didn't like higher order puzzles? Chris

VERY cool. You should also make some shapemods of it (Royal Skewb Ultimate) Nice work, I feel your pain for the stickering!

Congratulations, that's great! Last summer I designed a pillowed Royal Skewb for Cublem (Thang Nguen), but it seems like he never built it, so you're the first. Is your mech something like this? Attachment:

Well, it may be the first presented, but it may not necessarily be the first made... But it might be. It all depends on when Eric assembled the working puzzle.

Oh, COME ON!!! I just watched the vid and the turning is just unfair! Yeah, you heard me. UNFAIR. You must have cheatet somehow. Why exactly are you not 100% percent happy with it? I suppose you are 120% percent happy with it but are a person so modest as to wish for a not so perfect puzzle....? I think not only your sight became blurred during stickering. Also something happened to your nerves. They are overly sensitive at the moment because of all the irritation or something. The puzzle is massively... perfect. I want to place an audio file in this post. Some epic hero melody or so. So it always starts as soon as you klick on the topic. like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0el6NYq ... playnext=1 is it allowed to post this?

The turning is amazing! Especially for something with layers that thin.

Congratulations! I have been waiting for this since I first saw the tetrahedral version! Right, Drewseph's Royal Tetrahedron. Can't believe I forgot... but now that you've reminded me that it existed, I have to say that when I first saw it I was wondering why a cubic (pillowed or not) version did not exist...
