Did you know that an apple and a potato (and an onion for that matter) all taste exactly the same? It's just the smell that changes how you perceive them.
Back on topic, this is a neat idea. So original and so unique. This is one of those times where you just stop and wonder how no one ever did this before. However, I believe these are just cut and not attached, making their construction trivial and based entirely on cohesion. Still, I don't think there are any puzzles that rely on cohesion, which makes it more unique.

The variations in composition between a potato, onion and apple are so wide, I'm not sure how you can say they taste anything alike. From carb/fat/protein ratios, to vitamin and mineral contents, to flavonoid and polyphenol contents, to rankings on the glycemic index. As to the puzzles: Why?

What you can do to make them taste the same is plug your nose. Basically that's what he means. anyways great fruity puzzle! I made one too!

Keep these for around 20 years and I'm sure they'll be worth a fortune! Alex

Slight bump. Should these go on the list of customs? I mean... they're just cut up produce. Unique and everything, but I don't know if they should be considered actual custom puzzles.

Work went into them and you can't buy them mass produced in a store so I would lean towards yes. Dave
