In the show Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip Season 1 Episode 11 around 23 minutes in, Simon Stiles appears to be playing with a Rubik's Snake in the background. There are several shots of other characters with him in the background and out of focus but clearly taking interest in a blue and white strangely shaped object which seems to be a Snake.

Although it is a bit buggy/tricky to get right, the Tilted Twister features step-by-step instructions and software to make your own from a MindStorms NXT kit. I was able to make my own (with limited success though; it had problems with recognizing the colors)

The Canadian (mainly scientific and intellectual) talk show Daily Planet had a segment on speedcubing a night or 2 ago featuring (the only one that I recognized) Eric Limeback and 2 others. I only wished that they would have talked a little bit more about the different types of puzzles because I think that Rubik's Cubes are one of the few forces that can actually blow Jay Ingram's mind (he's the very intelligent host of Daily Planet, and he wrote a mind-blowing book about consciousness)

There was a commercial for a yogurt crushable cup that featured a guy holding a Rubik's Cube, but he crushes it and it explodes. The idea is that once you learn to crush with this yogurt crush cup you won't stop

On the First Direct advert there is a keychain cube. The other day there was a (terrible) magician on Daybreak who did that trick where you throw a cube in the air and then catch it solved (so obvious ). Alex

A lot of the props used on the set of The IT Crowd were submitted or suggested by fans of the show; clearly twisty puzzle enthusiasts. On different episodes, one can spot a Rubik's Cube, a Rubik's Clock, a V-Cube 7 and a Rubik's Cube poster. The poster says "A puzzle consisting of a cube of six colours. The aim is to swivel the squares until each face of the cube shows one colour only!" Skarabajo.

Sorry for the HUGE bump, but i thought this was interesting My hobbies are very diverse. They are: -Cubing/Modding -Shooting/Hunting -High School Wrestling (Varsity) -Video Games -Lockpicking (As a hobby, not a criminal act) Number 1 and 3 are probably the most different. Bringing only a 5x5 to wrestling camp blew their minds! Not a very stereotypical thing for a wrestler, cubing. But I wanted to bring this to your attention: Attachment:
downsized_0103012149.jpg [ 25.85 KiB | Viewed 4511 times ]
This combines hobbies 1 and 2, cubing and shooting. In my guns and ammo magazine, this is an advertisement for a flashlight meant for home defense that caught my eye. It is a flowchart showing what happens if you use a "Surefire Tactical light" rather than a "competitors" It reads "You fumble with the complex comtrols and accidedentally activate the low-output setting" for the competitor and then shows an arrow leading to death, because you get shot by the intruder apparently because your flashlight is too complex And under this caption is a picture of a 3x3 rubiks cube!!! They are trying to say that other flashlights are complex to use. Personnaly I think they should have showed a picture of a void petaminx or a hexaminx or a choposaurus but thats just me

I'd noticed a few Office Depot adds a while back, that used a Rubik's cube in its conclusion. I'd forgotten about them until now when I went to their website and saw the Cube by their logo: here.I wonder why they adopted it? It's been that way for a few months now, I saw those commercials before the Holidays (I think).

I'm not really sure if this is the best place to post this, but I just came across this video of a magic trick involving the Rubik's Cube (not just the one where you throw it in the air to solve it ). WARNING: his patter is absolutely horrible to hear if you've ever solved a cube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ0DObH0YY0Alex
