Disappearing Sidebar?

I've just noticed that the sidebar is gone for me. Does anyone else have this problem? What's causing it?

Apparently the hosting company did a round of updates last night and busted something or other. Any script that accesses the database is down for the moment. They are aware of the problem, and I assume things will just start automagically working again at some point. Hopefully sooner than later!

while we are at it. It would be really nice if the sidebar automatically updates so I dont have to hit F5 all the time. would that be possible?

While it is possible, it probably won't be good for Sandy's wallet.

I'm really annoyed with this. This is the easiest way to find posts which I can add some value to. For the last three days I haven't done that many posts. (In comparison to how many I normally do!)

Just use the "View active topics" link at the top of the page. It's much more useful than the sidebar which only showed 8 or so posts.

The sidebar is back for me as well. However: I believe it's "frozen" at one certain image. It shows for instants that some users are online, but they are not as I've checked myself. Also, it says that "Door" commented in "Gelatin Brain's...Thread" 37 minutes ago, but it's been a couple of hours since that.

Sounds like your browser is caching things. If you enjoy seeing things change in that sidebar, you may want to change that.

Thank you Sandy, is seems that's exactly what happened. I have now fixed it and the sidebar is up and running again. So if anyone else is having this problem, you know how to fix it.

Sorry for the bump, but I seem to have lost the sidebar again. In it's place I get the text "You can't see this content because browser does not support iframes." It's the same in Firefox, IE, and Chrome. Anyone else having this problem?

I can see the sidebar perfectly fine. I'm using Safari on a Mac.
