The WitEden crazy cube (the one with two circles on opposite sides) seems like a good candidate for making a 3x3x5 out of... you'd just need to un-fix the fixed centers and stick cubies to the circle parts, right?

If I had one of these (and eighteen cubies) I'd try it, but I don't ATM. :P

That's pretty much what it is, so yeah!

Agreed. And then maybe there will be a mass produced correctly proportioned 3x3x5!

this cube is made from my original puzzle :
http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16394

witeden, who will never recognize it, copied it as a mod of the crazy 2x3x3.
then he resized it cubic.

The funniest is that you want to do exactly the contrary of what I did.
I built it using a C4Y 3x3x5 and a crazy 2x3x3.
You want to use this one to built a 3x3x5.
Great Idea.
I think you can do it using a cubic 3x3x5(C4Y) . You just need to expand the top and down pieces.
Good luck.

with this approach the process of making a FF proportional 3x3x5 can be so short. And the outcome look very nice! I think. I wonder how easy it is to make the circles move freely?

Awesome! I didn't mean to "claim" the idea (and I don't think anyone else tried making one yet?) so keep working on it and post pics. :D
