I'm dropping out. Actually, I gave up at the beginning of August, but I was too lazy to post. Oh well, maybe next year!

Sorry, I have been very busy and their were a few people who contacted me telling me that Shapeways sas a little slow (as stated in their newsletter, it will be picking back up soon). With that combination, I will post the final voting thread ~5-6 pm TP time.

9/16/2010 Name: Jean Marc (Quicksolver) and Chandler (Quirky-Cubes) Puzzle: Miscellaneous Lock Status: Prototyped Info: This puzzle is a collaboration between Quicksolver and I. It's a trick lock puzzle called the Miscellaneous Lock, which stands for: Multiple Integrated Step Clasping and Externally Loaded Locking and Naturally Entertaining of Operatives of Unusual Security (lock) Solving it consists of maneuvering around a "Maze plate" inside the puzzle. Once you have successfully removed it, you can use it to unlock the rest of the puzzle. I won't show a video of solving or assembly; there's a reason why but I can't reveal that yet. Plus it would ruin the fun of solving it Pictures Below:

To come up with thee idea, I combined some innovative blocking in the mechanism with previous locks and added a Cooksey Maze (because they are fun). Chandler refined the blocking and realized this in CAD, and I am very pleased with the result (a public thanks to Chandler!!). I think that I just might have to warm up my throwing arm...too bad that I won't get to see the thing in person

Double Post! We now have a video of the solution for our puzzle lock up, now that all of the items on this puzzle's agenda have been completed. Even though it is a puzzle lock (which by nature are fairly repetitive in their solution), the solution is quite unique and can provide a different enough solving experience each time.
