Hi Twisty Puzzles fans,

Several 2x4x4 designs have seen the light of day in the recent past.

I have decided to go in a bit different direction, combining the concepts of a 2x4x4 and a Mixup Cube. The result is a non-proportional 2x4x4 that turns like you would expect a 2x4x4 to turn. However, the puzzle has additional turns. One can also turn slides by multiples of 60 degrees and scramble the puzzle in a quite unexpected way.

Watch the YouTube video.
Buy the puzzle from my Shapeways Shop.
Read more at the Shapeways Forum.
Check out the photos below.

Enjoy!

Oskar

Would it be possible to create a 4x4x4 mixup cube?

The edges are chamfered for a reason. They enable the pieces to slide over eachother.

I saw that in your signature just before reading Drewseph's post.

Honestly, can I borrow your mind for a few weeks?

Sometimes I think your greatest puzzles are the ones where you make us try to figure out how the physical ones work.

I was able to wrap my mind around the normal mixup cube just fine, but I'll have to watch this video a few more times.
