Hi Twisty Puzzles fans,

The Pentagon is a puzzle that I designed for its cuteness. It is quite small and hence quite affordable. The Pentagon is a pentagonal equivalent of the 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube. The pieces are a bit hollowed out so they can turn smoothly over and under each other. I used cadding to make the puzzle look "water tight", similar to my Kilominx version (see also Slice Kilominx).

Watch the YouTube video.
But the puzzle from my Shapeways Shop.
Read more at the Shapeways Forum.
Check out the photos below.

Enjoy!

Oooh, very cool looking, great job again Oskar

After looking through pictures some more, is it a ball mech like the Rubiks 4x4x4 and the pieces roll over the ball?

This looks like a cute and fun little puzzle, although it has some of the looseness issues which some of your other prototypes evidenced. Hopefully fixing that is just a matter of tweaking some tolerances.

Well, there is a ball inside, and the ball has grooves. Unlike the 4x4x4, this ball is split in two for the main rotation.

What would refrain you from just buying it? It cannot be its low price.

Not too bad with this one, it turns very well.

I may actually consider buying this.

Oskar, I think their are two puzzles you could build similar to this:

3 layered Pentagon
Circle/Crazy Pentagon.
