Because I have never shown any solid proof of my 6x6x6 and because it is still sometime before I can resume working on the modifications, I've decided to release a couple of photos of the 6x6x6. One shows the sheer number of parts and the other, the two halves fully constructed. I have had to blur a few key features for a little protection.

This is the first solid proof of an existing 6x6x6 mechanism. I'm still hoping to see proof of the french 6x6x6 mechanism rather than the existing 6x6x6 exterior shots we've seen.

Hope these tide everyone over for a little longer. I will only keep these up for a few days so grab them now while you can (but please don't pass them on).

Thanks Wayne!

Nothing quite drives home how difficult a project this is than seeing that pile of pieces. Good luck ;)

Did you have all the pieces made or did you cast from some stereolithography masters?

Wow, that's a lot of pieces!

Wayne, I can't help but notice that the very center of your puzzle is cut into multiple pieces rather than being a solid ball. In nearly all even-sided puzzles the whole center is glued solidly to one of the corners. The one exception I know of is a truly completely symmetric puzzle with some very novel properties I came up with which is currently under wraps, but that will be unveiled at a future time :-)

Is some part other than the center fastened to one of the corners? Is the center you showed simply not yet glued? Is there a more subtle asymmetry? Is it somehow truly symmetric in a way which keeps the center from rotating on its own? Am I asking too many questions? :-)

I had these parts made for me by partner (and who also provided these shots) using equipment like stereolithography. I'm not 100% sure if it's exacty the same process.

It's pretty complex. Nothing is fused to a corner. It doesn't float around, it can't. Yes, it's not a solid ball. The ball is key to the whole thing.

Amazing!

I think is a lot more work to assembly it gthan to solve it by twisting it.

I hope to see more of the 6x6x6 soon! I hope as part as my collections ;)

Beautiful design from what I can see.

Wayne, it appears that the prototype is complete. What issues are you still trying to resolve with it?

Any time frame on when you might be able to begin producing them?

What number am I on the purchase list?

Ton is right it looks like a bear to assemble! Do we get a discount if we assemble our own?

Bob

Hey, Wayne, Reinhart's got a great idea. We Twisty folk could be your beta-testers. We could assemble our own.

Hi Wayne,

I was away for a while and I lost a lot of information.

Are you going to produce or sell the 6x6x6 ?
It was not possible for me to understand this reading the last messages.

Thanks and good work!

As I was on vacation for the whole month of July, I missed the pictures, and could not locate them anymore. Could you please repost them, or send them to me to keshonok at yahoo dot com. Thanks!

I remember seeing this post after I came home from a vacation, but I also was too late to see the pictures. I hope you can re-post them.
