Is nobody going to acknowledge the edges only part of this puzzle too?

This is fantastic anyway :D

You must mean no corners, cause there are still centers on there.

First of all that large blue font is really annoying and needs to go away. No offense.

And it would be very difficult to make a corner piece hold into the mechanism. You can see what I mean if you look at the last picture carefully.

A shame that it turns like a 3x3, but a nice puzzle none the less.

Are two layers even able to turn? In one of the pictures the face is at mid turn. But what about a slice?
The turns seen in picture 4 make it a sensefull puzzle allready, even if it has only face turns, and I dought that slice turns are possible.
But still it is crazy how he creates new puzzles based on these groove mechanisms. Last one was the H-cube right? This is a massive step. :D

Very interesting! It seems that Oskar used the H Cube as a prototype for these more difficult designs.

This is not a true void 6x6x6. It is edges only and and does not turn as a 6x6x6 does. I am not underminding the achievement however, this is an outstanding puzzle!

And please let Oskar post his own puzzles!

Very cool, but I have the same question:

From a mechanism standpoint, if the second layers don't turn, this looks like a pretty trivial puzzle. It's basically an edges-only void cube, with some of the stationary parts being stickered and made visible (in the form of the "x-centers"), and then with a bunch of dovetailed axes added on to the middle of the elongated edge pieces. I don't see why there are no corners in this design, since if my interpretation is correct adding them would not be at all difficult.

I expected something more 6x6-like when I saw the title... perhaps Oskar will come out with a true new void design soon :) Maybe a 5x5 void cube, using a design in the style of his 17x17. Perhaps a 4x4 void cube with thick outer layers.

when i saw this, i thought it was a 4x4. then realizing that the corners probably had to be removed because it would fall apart then..

so basically its an edges only, void 6x6... 2 mods in one! :D

I've come up with a way of building a void 4x4x4, if anyones interested. Back to topic, very weird puzzle. I wouldn't call this is a void 6x6x6, as some movements are restricted and in some places there are more.

Diagram number 4 is simply awesome

Never seen that kind of rotation before in a cubic puzzle.

I suppose that increases the difficulty?
