I had some free time tonight so I decided to put together a small pack of free .STL files to help kick start a beginning builder. All of these files can be made with one-part molds (if you choose to) and are based off an eastsheen mini 2x2. I supposed you could build all of these by hand, but for gaining experience with one-part molds, basic casting techniques, sanding, polishing, etc, they are perfect. This is the first of a series of beginners packs that I want to start making. If anyone has ideas for future puzzles, shoot me a PM. Ideally, the puzzles should have 2-4 master parts, simple geometry, and obviously, not a patented design. The puzzle files included in this pack are: 2x2x4 2x2x2 Cross Cube 2x2x2 Axis Cube It's worth noting, if you want to print the 2x2x4 and 2x2x2 cross cube, the tip extensions will work for both of them. However you will need to print both of the parts that glue onto the 2x2. I highly recommend FDM from http://www.PrintTo3d.com for these puzzles. Enjoy! EDIT: Please feel free to build and sell these puzzles. Think of it as my "stimulus package" to aspiring puzzle builders.

The Dino cube is another great beginner one. I just finished casting my first copy. I think bhearn did this as his first puzzle too and also had a good experience. I think I may actually try a Helicopter cube next. It's alot of pieces, but only 4 piece types (I'm pretty sure just core, edge anchor, face piece, corner, right? I haven't actually made it in SolidWorks yet)

The helicopter cube files are not something I will (or can) release at this time.
