Ok... this thread is dedicated to all of you who have some brilliant ideas, and are sure (or almost sure) that they actually work. I am talking about new concepts, new ideas, new mechanisms, anything new that has not seen the light of day. However, due to copycats, many cannot ( and should not) show their ideas in public. This is the reason of this thread's existence. It is to inspire others by getting only some hints of what others do. For example, I have a list with ideas, and I really really really want to show them to everyone. I am not a businessman, but I am involved in a business, so unfortunately, my hands feel very itchy to type about everything. But if I do, I will betray some people who trust me. So instead of revealing the ideas, I will just state some keywords/hints, which are not good enough to reveal the design, but they are good enough to give an intro to a design which will most probably be produced in the future. Here are my hints for puzzles: 1. Sea Urchin! (actually, this is not the first time I mention it LOL) 2. Flower of life! (this one is based on collaborated university research with published papers!) 3. Monorail! (just imagine those fast japanese trains!) 4. Bended unstable cube (well... "deformed" is a better word!) Aaaah.... I must confess... I feel MUCH BETTER now!!! Pantazis PS. I had more hints for other puzzles, but those would give away the puzzles quite easily, especially as the hints cannot be less revealing and the people in this forum can be too smart! PS2. I repeat, DO NOT REVEAL your designs, just give some hint which is related to your puzzle and in NO WAY can reveal it. I take no responsibility if your puzzle is being found! PS3. The number 1 aim of this thread is to inspire everyone for more new ideas and concepts. PS4. No one is allowed to ask others further questions about their design. Just use your imagination!

All of the following are hints for things that are just concepts, not designed yet:
1. tesselate sphere 2. irregular twisty 3. flex mech

OK - I'll give this one a go here - I've finished the puzzle concept, but still yet to be executed as this will be my first "CAD" mod. Let's just say the clue is this:
"curvy bandage"

Hmmm...
Tomorrow I'll be printing some puzzle pieces that I will mold and cast over winter break.
1. Hint: 8 ---> 6 2. Hint: Junior barrel +
I have a lot of puzzles designed in SolidWorks that are just sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be cleaned up and built. I just haven't had time to finalize them enough to print them.
I'll see how finals week treats me, and then I'll decide whether to make more than 2.

A Polyhedron with more than 6 sides, but will also remind you of the things you see during a miracle.
For Tech purposes: essentially its already been built.

when I say identical, I mean identical I'm guessing at some sort of a crazy octahedron mech, or maybe some sort of a new tetrahedron puzzle, somehow maybe?? Either way I'm looking forward to it.

from what ur saying i have to say it must be a dodecahedron with strange turning axises and its multi layered so it has to be pillowed, with a boulder look to it but what type of turning ? the suspense is unbearable!!!

Hi I'm not a puzzle builder. nor even a modder - but nevertheless i have an idea for a 4x4x4 with tension. I know this would be a marginal new puzzle/mod. But nevertheless. This is THE place for any kind of (new) puzzle(s)!! Per PS: Some rough sketch or description will appear shortly.

Drew- I'm not certain what you're puzzle is, but I've got a hunch... And I'm taking a guess that either its name begins with "Boulder," or its just really freaking huge. EDIT: Didn't see the post you were making, now I know it's just really freaking huge.

Just an update on the potential puzzles list for winter break:
The "8 --> 6" is still confirmed (and I had the masters printed last week), but the "Junior Barrel +" is not. Instead, I'm probably going to pick up an old project of mine and solve the major issues using a different mechanism.
I'm madly studying for finals, which begin a week from today, so the only puzzle-related time I'll have will be to just get the masters printed for that puzzle, and pack them away. Wish me luck!

I'll let you all know how it turns out I don't want to step over any boundaries, because I know how you feel about giving away your designs. However, I was wondering if the mini gigaminx is successful, will you open it up for other people to print. I would much rather pay $130 more for a small and hopefully better turning gigaminx, rather than Cube4you's gigaminx.
