Well, I know everyone is going to say this, so let me be the first: It reminds me of an axis cube. Great job!

Great looking puzzle!!! I suggest naming it anything as long it doesn't include Axis in the name. It has quickly become the most played out term in puzzle history!

Very, very nice.
I am curious: Was this completely 3D designed, hand built, or was it 3D designed pieces (edge, corner and center cap) on a megaminx core and centers?

Me too it looks too similar to an axis cube so... AXIS-MINX!

Dave I 3D designed it in solidworks around the PVCminx core and centers so that I would just have to cast the essential parts. The good news is that the pvcminx is pretty cheap and easy to get as apposed to casting a core and 12 centers. I was really worried that it wouldn't work right with it, but I realized that I could just get the center piece printed if all else failed. (Also, I finally mixed up my superman elemental puzzle and accidentally solved it about an hour later. I was too scared to mix it up in the first place, but my roommate got ahold of it and mixed it up throughly.) Calzone wrote: Great looking puzzle!!! I just realized after finishing it that I have made nothing but "axised" puzzles in the past few months. I really want to stray from that name even though that is technically what it is. I should have said that in my first post, seeing all the axis names now. I promise that my next one won't be axised. Thank you everyone else that likes it! I'm really glad that I can step out of 3x3 shapes a little bit. I will hopefully be able to make a black one soon. I just need to get ahold of a black megaminx in the meantime. Also, I've never solved a super megaminx, let alone this thing. It's ridiculous!

Absolutely Stunning job on the mod. As for a name, the comopany that makes my dirtbike's tires, Maxxis, comes to mind. Perhaps maybe the Maxxis-minx? Also, even though this is the nerd in me coming out, how about the Uberminx?

To bring up a different idea, it looks like it had the same tilt idea to it as Tony Fisher's Golden Cube.
It appears to only be in the dodecahedral shape when solved, as I concieve it. Why not have gold on every face and call it the Golden Minx?

Wow, an axis minx. This is wonderful and it looks beautiful. I am putting this up there in the same category as the hexaminx. It is that good.

Thanks again. I'm really proud of it, although it is a pretty straightforward modification. Here's what I've narrowed it down to: Alliminx (axis vs. allies?) Spindleminx Twisted Dodecahedron (sounds a little too much like the twisted cube) Offset Megaminx (suggested on youtube) Revominx (revolved around an axis?) Some are stupid, but I just want to break the "axis" trend.

Very nice one! Looks absolutely stunning! Out of those 5 names, I think Revominx is the best one.

I don't get the name. It's dodecahedron + megaminx right? Isn't a megaminx already a dodecahedron?

It´s just a cool sounding name for a cool looking puzzle. The name doesn´t have to make complete sense.

You should really do the Alliminx, as you said from before. The analogy to Axis vs Allies is pretty cool.

Beautiful work! Have you done a full solve? Do the strange shapes make it more difficult?
...Now that a megaminx has been "axised", who's going to work on "fishering" one?

It seems that everyone really wanted it to be called something with "Axis" in the title, but I'm afraid that I wanted to come up with an original name this time.

Where is the problem with Axisminx or the like? If you would call it "Nonsensminx", many people had to google everytime they see this term anywhere. There will be many more guys to know what is meant by Axisminx. Give it a try: You now what Obelinx is? But you might know PentageonalTrapezohedronSkewb... Another idea would be to name it Joshminx.

I say call it the Doubiously Diabolical Dodechahedron.

I guess peer pressure got the best of me. I will remedy this by not making an axised puzzle next time so I won't have to worry about it at all. I will break the cycle.
