It started with a question from me to Olz, if he can make CAD-files from his 1x2x5 built with Lego. He is one of the best CAD user I know. He ask me a lot of things and a few minutes later I got my stl-files. With this and smooth and oomoo30 I built following: Attachment:

Attachment:
project olz & claus - higher order cuboids (1).JPG [ 326.99 KiB | Viewed 4183 times ]
But Olz designed something more. He contructed several higher order cuboids, a 4x4x2 and a 5x5x3 and so on... Attachment:

In the afternoon I will show scambled pictures. Attachment:

Very striking. Are they an extension of the floppy cube idea?

Wow! Those weird shapes in the centres are probably needed to be able to function, but they also look really cool! Can they shift shape?

How stable is the 1x2x5? It looks very nice, but I'd be nervous playing with it. Very clever on the 4x4x2 and 5x5x3! It's an elegant solution, yielding an elegant puzzle. Plus, curvy lines are fun.

The 1x2x5 plays very nice. It is stable, not fragile. I plan to show a video in the next days.

Amazing job guys. i am quite impressed. I have been waiting to see a 4x4x2 for a while but the 5x5x3 blew my mind away. I am also curious as to the way the shapes turned out on the faces. It makes me wonder as to what the v-cubes would look like with out pillowing.

Are these entirely cast/printed or are they built around standard-issue cores?

Really, I must give a second expression of amazement. Truly, these are fantastic. I personally think this looks much better than pillowing and can only hope I get my hands on a few of these cube types. I am dieing to get my hands on a few. I want to see who else creates some of these and see if anyone makes a few extra to sell off. Seriously, these are just intensely awesome, nothing more can be said.

Is the 1x2x5 the same size as the original or is it normal cubie sizes? By the ay how far have you gone with this design will there be even bigger cuboids or does it stop at seven.

Excellent work! I'm curious as to whether a 1x4x4 or a 2x5x5 can be made, by pillowing something that looks like these.

I was expecting the 2x4x4 sooner or later with all the talk of it and seeing pillowed versions but this is awesome! The 3x5x5 just stopped me cold! Then when you went a "little" further and created a 7x9x9 I just went:

olz, I think with the 7x7x5 and 9x9x7 you've sucked most of the hype out of the 4x4x2 and 5x5x3 puzzles you actually built.
