Jason will be selling his Petaminx soon (just a few more days on the auction) so we figured this was our chance to get a family photo of all the 'Minxes. Jason, Aleh, Bram and I met near my work and brought our puzzles. I brought the my Kilominx and a CubeSmith stickered Tomy megaminx (a tiled Meffert's didn't fit well given all the others were stickered) and a Teraminx (Drewseph's design, V2 smaller). The Teraminx was loaned to Jason scambled, who loaned it to me to solve for the picture. Aleh brought his amazing Gigaminx (PuzzleMaster42's design) as well as his Teraminx (Dreseph's design, V1 larger). I just cut the stickers for him last night and delivered them after midnight, so the fact that it has even five sides stickers says he put some time to get ready for the meeting Jason of course brought his astounding Petaminx. Wow. Enjoy, Dave

That looks awesome! Too bad noone ever made any other even number minxes. We need a 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8 minx to make it a full set 2-9

But on topic: The light inside the restaurant was pretty poor, and with my dark shirt as a background the pictures could have been better. I should have put them on my napkin at the very least. Oh well, we'll just have to wait for an East Coast reunion for a better picture I suppose. Dave

Sorry, no video. But a few more pictures: A friend at work likes photography and took a few pictures before I left for lunch. He posted them on his livejournal site: For those who speak Russian, here is the link to his post. Dave

The petaminx was WAY too close to the edge of the table in the last picture.

My apologies - I can't find the wire for my camera, so my Blackberry will have to do once again. Here's my minx family. For those who want to see the mixed version, bare with me. They will come.

Eek! I'd be scared balancing two pillowed puzzles on top of each other, along with several other puzzles on top! (I'd be even more scared knowing that that stack is worth well over $6,000!)

Actually, the puzzles were very stable! It didn't even wobble. I'm guessing the weight balanced it out well. Although the puzzles themselves aren't heavy at all. Btw - Aligning is a bitch, but once it is it turns very smooth! <--- Yes that means I'm in the midst of mixing it. I'll post pics tomorrow. Tonight will just be mixing and mixing.

You know... we've seen plenty of cubic 1x1x1's... why not a 'monominx' ( ) or something like that in pyramid form? Hmm... I think this is worth working on

I was thinking about doing it and calling it a "Microminx". But the only dodecahedral thing I could find was a d12 - way too small. (Unless you call it a "Micro-microminx"!)

That did look a little dangerous with all the minxes stacled on top of eachother (especially since the 2 on the bottom were pillowed) BTW nice new avatar reeech.

If you go by the same name scheme every other Minx, then the 1x1x1 Minx would just simply be "Minx."

I think it's very fitting for the 1x1x1 to simply be "minx." However, it's bad for easily referencing the minx family so I would suggest some other name.

Cubicle wrote: If you go by the same name scheme every other Minx, then the 1x1x1 Minx would just simply be "Minx." I do agree the name would be fitting, but doesn't the word "Minx" refer to the ability to twist?

Whoa :O Does anyone even know how to solve the Petaminx yet? Also, is anyone so daring as to design an Examinx (Or even Zettaminx)?
