Another of Alokin's great designs. It's a really nice puzzle. I experimented with a couple of different sticker variations (lightning bolt, standard gaps, etc.) and decided to go with the wavy cut like I did on the cylinder 3x3, since they're both round puzzles. It was pretty tough to make stickers for it, but I think they turned out nice. I see a few places where I put the stickers on a little crooked. I'll have to fix that. BTW, those little white flecks are resin flakes from cleaning up about a gazillion parts from a particular frustrating but elegant and beautiful puzzle I'm working (petaminx).

As you can see, this puzzle very closely resembles a Trajber's Octahedron. I set it next to one in the last two photos.

Nice job on the design, Alokin!

That looks beautiful! Nice work to you and Alokin. And I'm glad to see those shavings, too! :)

Very nice!

I like the wavy stickers. I guess a concentric circles colour scheme is possible too.

Btw, the Trajber's also looks great :)

Nice! I can't wait to see the video. Can it roll around in a circle? :D And how about a family photo with the cylinder? I love the wavy stickers!

Nice work Flambore, very clean build (apart from the peto-flakes)! Lovely stickering. Interesting to see next to the Octahedron.

Very pretty design Alokin. Nice one!

Nice job buddy!

I like the sticker scheme you use with circular puzzle!

I haven't noticed that there was a big similarity with the Trajber, thought, it's more like an Octahedron ( Image )

Cheers,
Nikola :)

By the way, I like the background on the last picture!
I'm actually making my molds for him :P

This looks great! I really like the sticker pattern with the waves.

BTW, Your stickers look textured, and not as glossy as cubesmith stickers. Where do you get them? Are they any better?

Actually, they're not textured. Any textures that appear on the stickers are what comes through from the puzzle's finish.
Some of the puzzles I do are very shiny. I get that from applying one more final coat of IPS Weld-on after my final sanding. It leaves a glossy finish, but it does have some texture- kinda looks like a paint brush texture because that's how I apply the IPS. I don't do that for all my puzzles, but I have done that with this one and the Cylinder.

The vinyl I have been using is good, but not as good as Oracal. I bought 13 colors of a cheaper brand from USCutter's web site to get started, but I am in the process of switching over to Oracal for all my colors. Not so much for the quality because this stuff is actually thicker, but because Oracal is so much easier to weed.

Another hit from the Simon and Garfunkel of cube mods. :)

The similarity with the Trajber is perfectly illustrated.

Very clean, elegant looking Puzzle.

So basically, its a (large) Fisher Cube, thats been cut down(in CAD)? Or, does the mechanism differ?

Looking at the similarity of this puzzle to a Trajber just reminds me how much I want a Trajber's Octahedron...

Great job, now I have to go into the corner and cry until I come up with the money to purchase one. ;)

Very clean build, Flambore. This puzzle reminds me so much of how you build a Curvy Mastermorphix.
