It looks like it is just some pieces from a 4 layer super square 1.

Well I think he made this one up himself. Just the outer layers of a supersquare-1 removed and put some stickers on..

Well THAT's embarrassing. I convinced myself it wasn't a super square 1 mod because I didn't think the core looked that way. That's a huge relief to be wrong.

Not really rare, but I was pleased that I was able to snag this for myself (always wanted a clock!) for only 4.20 GBP!

LOL that was me. The seller used the label "rare". As I have done in the past,
I had made sure sto the seller that the reason I bid was because of that label.
If it was a new custom one, it cannot be rare. Therefore the auction is misleading
and I will get my money back.
(and yes, it has happened to me a couple times before, but that's the name of the game!)

Only one thing, you forgot to write done the prices:

Pantazis, I'm always looking over my shoulder in fear on ebay because I know we share similar taste in puzzles. I'll be sure to make a post about the oversized Magic tiles and any info I get with them!

Indeed. There is a very fine line between a collectable and a new mod.
As a collector, I am prepared to pay enough to get a rare puzzle, while as a mathematician,
I can't stand some newly made mods for which I would never even bother to twist.
So you can imagine how it feels when a rare puzzle is proved to be a common mod.
It makes my blood boil!!! Grrr....

Time for the seller to issue a refund.

I recognize that builder. One of the best I've ever seen on YouTube. He's made some amazing puzzles. His most recent being a face turning tetrahedron:

He is an outstanding puzzle builder, indeed.
I am just surprised about the price, when it is possible to get a incredible Master Tetrahedron for $400.

You all are going to think I'm really dumb* but I just realized that each of the light green center tiles can slide out and rotate! I've only had this puzzle for about 10 years

Are you sure? For the Padlock, I see one offer that was declined. For the Clever Disk, I see two offers that were declined, and for the Gripple, I see no offers. But I don't see any actual sales.

You are quite right, Georges. And I was already planning on posting a picture on the Rubik's Sajt page as soon as my cheese arrives. In fact, it was that topic which made me realize that I *needed* a cheese in the first place. I was very surprised that nobody outbid me on this auction, especially you Georges. Although my maximum bid was considerably higher than the final price, it was by no means unbeatable, since I had just forked out alot on a used Rubik's cheese a few days earlier.

This pattern seems to be happening to me alot: First I bought a domino, then a few weeks later I was able to get one in package for the same price. Later on I bought an octahedron and a few days later I was again able to get a sealed star puzzler for about the same amount. And now I got an unopened cheese a lot cheaper than the used one I bought a couple of days earlier. Not that I am complaining... I am very happy with my luck, considering that someone bought these olympic rings from the same seller for more than my unopened cheese:

That depends on what you mean by "easily." If you only handle it a little the logo can last. If you handle it constantly it will wear off. Some logos seem to last longer than others.

Do the heads usually sell for this much? O.o I have an old Darth Maul head in great condition, how much could I fetch for it? (Even though I don't intend on selling it. )

Some heads (the disney ones) are quite rare. Darth Maul isn't. They go for around $5-$20. Depending on how many persons are bidding on the particular one.

Mefferts once had a license from Disney to produce the heads, but once it expired Disney wanted too much to elongate it. So they had to quit production. Except for one set Meffert keeps and will keep for himself they're out of stock.

Do you mean Warner Bros? Mefferts still sells Mickey heads on his site, as well as different puzzle balls.

But most of the ones going for cheap are posted because they're rare and normally go for a lot, thus, you don't seem them every day.
