I am very puzzled (no pun intended) about which DIY cube "letter" is the fastest. I have been told that the A brand is better than others, same with the D brand DIYs. Here is an actual chart of what I have come up with in speed from fastest to slowest in terms of DIY cubes... 1) Manufacturer A DIYs 2) Manufacturer D DIYs 3) Manufacturer C DIYs 4) Manufacturer B DIYs I am honestly unsure of which is better. Maybe personal Preference is part of the equation, but this information was gathered from 100+ users of All 4 DIYs. I'm sure these cubes have their ups and downs, like popping, snapping, or locking. Please tell me which I should buy

Fastest is not the word, better quality is what you mean.
Your order is correct in quality of pieces.
To answer your question, mine is the fastest.

Don't forget type (e)Don't trust face turning speed either, it might be really nice to wheel it round with your finger but be terrible at cutting corners. From what I've heard the type Ds are nice, they make a clickity clack noise (always a plus, right? lol), cut corners fairly well, and turn with a 'frictionless' movement. The new type (e) is similar, but only $4 which is cool

Get a Type D. They're the best at the moment. Make sure you get a type A core for it as well.

How important is the core? How much of a difference would I get from using a type "A" core?

The difference is very noticeable. My Type D cubes were great when i got them, but putting Type A cores in made a pretty significant difference. It's only $0.65
