I was planning on putting a Hungarian Supernova up for sale and took a few pictures. But, before I got it up on eBay, I wound up arranging to trade it.

But why waste the nice pictures? I thought I would share.

I love the gold and silver metalic stickers. Just beautiful.

The movement on the Supernova, with no lubrication or cleaning after very many years of use, is still a good deal better than a stock Meffers Megaminx. I have yet to clean and lubricate one but I would guess, but for that fact that it is a collector's item, it would make a very nice speed cube.

The corners of the Supernova are unique in that they are molded in two pieces which are held together by the forces of the puzzle. No glue or friction fitting are neccesary. I'll have to post a picture later to demonstrate this. In fact, I'll have to do a complete clean up of one and take pictures along the way.

Wow, it looks so beautiful when its scrambled. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a collector of puzzles similar to ones I already have, and since I have a meffert's minx, I'll have to abstain.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to imply it was for sale (or I would have put it in Marketplace). It has been traded. I just wanted to share the pictures since it isn't a puzzle most people have seen.

Any chance of telling us what you traded it for? That is a very good quality Supernova, I can imagine it would have traded for something equally as interesting!

I happily traded Dave for another puzzle of similar value. It does look nice!

I have three of these to trade, one in the Pentangle box it originally came in.
I prefer "cubes" before other puzzles, and within "cubes", those that are from the 80's.
