Could the truncated cuboctahedron also be described as a truncated cube? Just truncated slightly differently to usual. ie does it work like a normal cube?

Great job! Are we likely to see the Tuncated Cubeoctahedron on ebay?
Good use of a 4x4x4 for the 2x2x3. Did you use plastic sheets, putty, or extra parts to extend it?

I like your Truncated Cubeoctahedron Superman! Looks great! Did you use a 9cm Rubik's Cube to make the 2x2x3, Giant 2x2, make the pieces, or use a 4x4 like Jesse said? It looks awesome. I have to make one sometime. Great job!

It looks to me like it is made from 3x3x3 cubies and the 3x3x3 next to it is a keychain sized one.

I'm almost positive this is a 4x4x4. I had to do a lot of similar stuff for my 2x2x5 (which I have finished remodeling.)

Thanks everyone for the positive comments!
To clarify things, The truncated cubeoctahedron is called so because I just shaved down the points of a cubeoctahedron. It works exactly like a normal 3x3, and I will likely be selling it very soon.
For the 2x2x3 (which only took about 2-3 hours), I used an eastsheen 4x4 and a big 3x3. The pieces are just right for the eastsheen. The big 3x3 was originally a KISS cube that I restickered to be a large 3x3. I'm sad that I had to tear it up to make this one, but I'm more happy with a 2x2x3 than a 3x3.
Thanks again! I can't wait to make a few other puzzles based off the same technique!

I could tell that it used a 3x3x3, I just didn't know you had one that large to work with. I did look like an idiot.

I got mine on ebay, but I later found that Spencer's gifts (a store in my mall) has them along with scarface cubes. They're about $10 at spencers.

These are great mods. May I ask a question though, as I've seen several of your mods already? Why aren't you trying making your mods perfect? I am not a builder but rather looking at this from buyer's point of view, and I am picky. The cubeoctahedron would have looked much better if the parts were accurate and level. Basically that's what makes a mod so desirable - the perfection.

Well unfortunately the original corner pieces came from a cubeoctahedron and were very uneven in the first place. I just never did anything to them I guess. The pictures really don't do it justice. Another contributor to the off levelness is that fact that it is not a cube so it cannot be lined up perfectly by simply putting it flat against the table, so it could also be that fact that I didn't have it lined up perfectly.
The major contributor to the unevenness is the first explaination (original corners are off), but in person it is only noticeable if you look extremely close and are actually looking for flaws. Otherwise you see a nice puzzle that alot of time was put in to.

I notice that half the corners have three colours and half have six colours - this has set me thinking about other stickering patterns for this.
