A 1x1x2, for the Rubik's Retard XD. Pointless, but nice to look at.

Took an afternoon to make, and came out with a puzzle thats smooth, looks alright, and has springs :) Truely speedcube'able!

For beginners, the steps:
1) Use either 2 centres, or 2 edges, and cut 2 pieces that will join together to form a cube. - make 2 sets of these
2) Drill holes in the centres of 2 pieces. [Find the centre by drawing 2 diagonals from the corners. Place a compass on the centre, and adjust it slightly so that its point can touch all the corners]
3) Add, a screw, a spring, some washers and 2 lock nuts - essential. make sure u glue them to stop them from moving, or the puzzle might undo itself when your in the middle of a speed solve!
4) Glue the corresponding halves to the now joined halves, and glue tiles
5) Have hours of fun! XD

I made one using a jumbo cube. Each cube side is ~3.3cm. Its important to get the 2 halves to form an exact cube...or the puzzle gets misalligned somewhat....

Enjoy,

Wilson

Seeing the UWR lucky policy (lucky if skipped step has less than 20% chance), and the fact that there is a 25% chance of the cube being solved at the start, I anticipate a UWR of about 0.03 seconds, which seems to be the lowest a Stackmat can go. (Did anyone ever get lower?)

Yeah that's the fastest.

Stackmat first-gen however is like .32 or something seconds.

Maybe not the right place, but has anyone thought of doing a 1x4x4?

Cubic or no? (Like, proportional?) I think someone has bandaged a 4x4 by now.

i made a 1x1x3 a while back. Mine was in a cube shape. My record time is .46 seconds. I scrambled it with my eyes closed and it was solved when done. I timed myself for picking it up and putting it down. :D

I meant cubic as in, each cubie edge is the exact same size. (Each piece is a cube, not a rectangular prism.)

Looks like it got some interesting ways of turning ie does not only have four possible scrambles...

I think it's just stickered like that, it's not solvable. :)

I am not joking!
It is solvable, but you are right, the 1x1x2 consists two individual
magnetic cubes (1x1x1), and each has six magnets inside and
six stickers in six colours -
White, magenta, cyan, orange, light green and yellow.

The most difficult problem of this 1x1x2 puzzle for me is -
How to float two 1x1x1 separately on water in the same orientation?

Can you solve this for me ? Thank you.

A 1x4x4, I think you should have the same problem that you had if you want to build a 7x7x7 cube, I think it si not posible.

Any cube can be attracted and connected by another cube with any orientation,
like the ones in previous photos. But they are always not in the same
orientation when they were separated.

This is a photo of Two Floating cubes.

I think you're going to have to resticker one of them to get them the same. It is magnetic right?

Thank you skeneegee.
No. When these small cubes were stickered, they do not need to be
restickered to form any of the 24x24 connecting combinations. The special
dynacubes can just attract each other, no repelling effect.

When they were connected, thier orientation can be the same - One of the 24 orientations.
But when they were seperated, the magnets inside each cube
will be re-oriented and the the cube's orientation changed.

My problem is -
How to unscramble the 1x1x1 cube from inside, to set them in a pre-determined orientaion.
(Not re-stickering).
