Hi :-)

Here's a very simple modified (bandaged) 4x4x4 cube. In lack of proper large stickers i used clear tape to bandage 4 2x2x2 *corners*. It's not a very interesting physical modification but a rather hard puzzle to solve once it's scrambled.

Tape and seperate stickers = satan. Otherwise it looks good.
Get tiles (use my method, it's good for bandadging) and cover those up. but stay away from tape when it comes to puzzle mods.

Hi :-)

Yes, it's very ugly i know that. Just wanted to show it. Has exactly the same been done before? I have seen 4x4x4 bandaged to 2x2x4 :)

There are so many 4x4 mods out there these days, that i'd guess that yes someone has tried this.

Ok

I have now recovered that cube back to a normal fully functioning 4x4x4. All i can say is that the cubesmith stickers are overrated wrt stickyness. The scotch magic clear tape is stronger ... :x

I will do this mod later with proper stickers or tiles

Our fellow member Mr. Twisty made some not to long ago... Just various ways you can bandage them.

But I see how you bandaged it. The smaller cubies can only mix up when they are on the same plane, correct?
