That looks great. The stickering really adds to the overall look. I know that these cuboids are typically built pillowed, but do you think a straight cut across the top layer of cubies would work?

A question to the OP and all modders: how is the durability of paint on these puzzles? Does it stay in good condition or does it have to be redone from time-to-time? What kind of surface prep do you do prior to painting?

I think a straight cut across the top and bottom would work it would just result in the cubes on those rows being slightly larger in height than the middle row, so it depends how you want the puzzle to look, I personally prefer the slightly pillowed look, but both would work the same.
With regards to the paint I sand and degrease all the surfaces to be painted and I give 6-8 light coats of paint, this 5x5x3 has been solved around 100+ times (I take it to work and solve on my breaks) and I have not noticed any wearing of the paint so id say its very durable

Beautiful puzzle, Ian.

Total noob alert: How did you cut the stickers? Just an exacto-knife and a sticker sheet? Is there some better method?

Also, I really like your YouTube channel (at least the puzzle-related stuff). I'd love to see more mod tutorials :)

Thank you, the stickers are standard 5x5 pre cut stickers for the sides and the top and bottom are hand cut from vinyl sheet using a craft knife
