As the title suggests, I'm looking for puzzles with the best cost to salvageable (standard size) cubies ratio. Preferably black plastic. I could make cubies myself as I know some people do but I would rather salvage existing cubies than trust my own handiwork I have looked around but wasn't exactly sure which were the best. Much appreciated!

I think the c4u 3x3x4 would be the best, they are of regular size, and with only a saw you can salvage at least 16 cubies from each puzzle.

Edit: Just thought about it. there are more cubies on a regular 3x3 that can be salvaged.

So 3x3x4 Pros: Only 1 cut needed for each cubie
Cons: Fewer cubies than on a 3x3x3

QJ 3x3x2s are super cheap, though they (the corners) require a tiny bit of filling to be made completely cubic.

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought about the mozhi Tetris blocks because it's $8 and has 26 solid cubies. I would have to dye them but that's fine. The only problem is that I can't find any information on the cubie size

1x3x3 floppy.... but you only get 8 cubies.

You can go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's art and craft stores and buy wooden 3/4 inch cubies.....they work good for me and you don't have to worry about cutting or filling.
