Hi everyone! I'm thinking about getting into 3D designing of puzzles but I don't know which 3D designing program is best to use (at a good price too). For all the 3D designers out there, what do you think is the best program for this? Also, is 3D designing a process that doesn't require meticulous and painstaking detail of the eye and the computer mouse make?

I use Google SketchUp but I would not recommend this for full puzzle design as it does not support parametric modelling. It is good for quick and dirty designs, but not good for "what if" design flows.
To do the complex designs some of the guys present here, there is little choice but to use something like Solidworks or Inventor, but both of these are probably out of your price range. And they both have very steep learning curves, in my opinion.
