The Java puzzle posted before rotates and plays exactly like my little models did.

My first complete model used magnets to hold itself together. This made for a fragile but functional puzzle.

I sketched out a follow on to it that made a second set of cuts. This was very much like the skewb/dino cross but I had not conceived of a way to do the four different complete twists across the center.

However, I really liked the idea of now having 24 triangle/edge pieces and 12 diamond-like internal pieces.

It has been 12 years since I thought of those puzzles. Now I really want them.
