I have a new puzzle idea to share with the world! when in it's solved state, it looks exactly like a 3x3x3. when in it's scrambled state, it looks like....well, a scrambled 3x3x3. What's new is, each center piece is limited to 90 degree rotations, in that it can only move within a range of 90 degrees. This can also be modified to have each face be able only to turn 180 degrees. Sorry for the vague explanation, but a picture should help
(sorry it's sideways, don't break your neck!) yes, I know it's a horrible drawing, but basically, each center has a raised segment measuring 90 degrees, while the base pieces (which attach in a Dayancrazy3x3x3-like way) have raised segments of either 90 degrees (to allow 180 degree turns) and 180 degrees (to allow 90 degree turns.)
If anyone understands what I'm saying, and wants to make it more clear or provide a better drawing, please do so!
I'd love to see someone design this.
thanks for watching,
