VideoI have spent over 4 years working on this puzzle I present, the Cross Cube, 48 Cube, 45 Cube, 400 Cube, Super Chop, 2x2x2 plus 24 Cube, or any other name you can think of. It is a little chop infused with a 2x2x2. Attachment:

More photos and a video will be uploaded in a couple days. It has about 400 pieces. The first mechanism design was the same as my Fully Functional Siamese Cubes. The mechanism used in this final version has never been used before and allows any deep cut puzzle to be made. I have used the mech to create a Fully Functional 2 Layer Square 1. This puzzle jumbles at 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and about 70.1 degrees and has no internal bandaging. NO MAGNETS! The size is 70 mm by 70 mm by 70 mm. COPYRIGHT 2010:ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Beautiful.
Well, I might as well just toss my 24-cube project, its pretty pointless now that this has been released.

Wow, incredible, can't wait to see the video. Looks like we already have Puzzle of the Month for August 2010, though I'm curious to see what Tom's working on, after Oskar's comments.

I'm curious to know, is the mechanism in any way similar to the original 24 cube? The large number of pieces combined with the similar external appearance make me wonder if they are share any similarities. Excellent work!

In fact there are two types of puzzles that make me go "wow", both based on ingenious creativity and originality: 1. Groundbreaking technical/mechanical achievements that do the unexpected and make the impossible possible (like this puzzle, and many of Oskar's); and 2. Groundbreaking puzzle concepts that are incredibly simple, elegant and original, yet still very challenging and fun to solve. The original Rubik's Cube managed to do both: double "wow"!

This is pretty crazy. Ok it's very crazy. This is a big surprise coming from you, after seeing your mole cube and the turning quality of the FF fused cubes (no kind of offense intended). Really an amazing feat, I hope it turns reasonably well, a puzzle as amazing as this doesn't even need *perfect* rotation. As for the name I think 48-cube would be the best choice (there already is a cross cube), or perhaps something with 'junior', like Chopped Junior (Cube) or something like that. oh and on a side note: Please finish it! This beast must be shown as one of the most amazing twistypuzzles ever, which most of the time have stickers!

I'm really curious about the mechanism for this one. I know that once you have a 24-cube mech in sphere form, adding the 2x2 mech is relatively easy. I'm just curious how the 24 cube bit was done

I'm having trouble concieving how this is the same mechanism as the FF Siamese. On the FF Siamese there are no hidden pieces, but this must have a ton. But how can this even remotely represent the Siamese mech?

I'm guessing overlaying 1x1x2's , 1x2x2's or 2x2x2's Atleast that would be my approach if i ever were to try and make one.

When I look at it. It looks like a Little Chop and a Super X cube (2x2x2 cube + a Dino cube) together.

Absolutely amazing! Definitely the best puzzle I've seen all Summer.
Would this new mechanism be stable enough to create a 2x2+Little Chop+Skewb?

Wrong And now I will back my claim up with as much proof as yours, none Also there is only 1 mechanism, you just have a choise of how complex the layers are in 3 stages.

I just returned from vacation and this is my first chance to reply. @theVDude It doesn't move well, yet @Garrett I have no plans on selling this or 24 cubes, so if you want one, keep designing yours @c1829 Thank you @zevipa ? @Doubleyou What was the first? The mechanism looks really cool and thank you What have they been saying? @APJ Yes it will @gingervergo I hope it is only a brother, and not a twin @Kelvin Stott Thank you a lot @kastellorizo Also thank you a lot @TomZ A really really complicated design @will_57 I have no idea how the.drizzle's 24 cube works but I doubt this has anything similar @merlintocs I will NOT make a video soon @MonkeyZ You will have to wait a while @Kelvin Stott About 15. @wwwmwww You will have to wait a while @mizzle576 When this current prototype is at the best turning possible, you will see it @Derek Bosch Or a late April Fools prank @pirsquared Can't wait to see it Unless it is a twin @Sjoerd The mole cube was made for fun(and has great turning quality ) and I only designed fully functional siamese cubes. The name Cross Cube was what I called it 4 years ago when I first started. This was before I even knew cross cubes and the 24 cube existed I have tiles made and ready to be dyed. First I will practice dying wsf on my Super Edges! @DragonCuber Thank you I will post more pics soon. @Garrett Wrong!!! I guess this could be called a fully functional 48 cube, because the 2x2x2 and 24 cube cuts can intermix. Unlike a helicopter cube ontop of a 2x2x2, both the 24 cube and 2x2x2 need to be built ontop of eachother. @Quirky-Cubes Yes, yes it can! This puzzle mech is fully functional. Any puzzle made with it could be rotated if the external cuts match up. @monuman Thank you @Rentlix The FF siamese cube mech was a result of the FIRST mech I designed for this puzzle. This current puzzle uses the second version of the second mech I designed. @Namegoeswhere That would not work The reason this puzzle took 4 years is because it is impossible to make with any already existing puzzles or mechanisms, except magnets and the knuckle head mech @Jorbs3210 No thank you It would be an unfun puzzle because the dino rotations would get blocked almost instantly after jumbling and only allow the pre-existing pieces to rotate in more ways making it easier. @Darren Grewe Thank you, I guess @ Quirky-Cubes You "could" but it wouldn't work @Derek Tolley I will make a video when it turns the best it can Anyone know the best lube for wsf from Shapeways? @Kapusta How much would you pay? This mechanism can make ANY deep cut puzzle. The puzzle would be just fine , except it would need to be a lot larger @Beans Thank you ALso, you are wrong! The copyright was added for fun and the pieces are designed in such a way that in the future this "could" be mass produced. However, paying people to spend 30 hours per puzzle assembling it with tweezers and hand screws would make it probably the most expensive mass produced puzzle ever made @Namegoeswhere That may work on some puzzles but not on this @Doubleyou Quick, someone give me a bunch of money to print another puzzle so that Doubleyou's head will explode @VeryWetPaint I look forward to seeing that But my question is, is it Fully Functional? @theVDude Is that a name suggestion or are you talking about VeryWetPaint's puzzle? @Doubleyou Just wait until you see the video Now that that is finished, some general answers . I will post more pictures soon but I will not make a video until it turns as good as I can get it to. What is the best puzzle lube for wsf from Shapeways? ALso what is the best dye for wsf? This puzzle was designed in Blender. The bolts, nuts, and springs cost about $50! There is a lot of things happening inside this puzzle EDT: I don't think anyone understands this puzzle The 24 cube compared to this is the same as a 2x2x2 compared to a 24 cube

Deepest cut cube would be the little chop + 2x2x2 + skewb. Deep cut edges, faces, and vertexes.

I figured that one won't be broken. Based on your hint, is this a 2x2x2 in the inside, Little chop around that, and pure evil on the outside?

The 2x2x2 is around that, along with the little chop, followed by pure evil I have no plans to release the mech anytime soon but I could give thousands of hints and even pictures of hidden pieces and no one would be able to figure it out "If a 24 cube is built on a 2x2x2, it is not fully functional. But if a 24 cube is built ontop of a 2x2x2 ontop of another 24 cube, it is one step closer." I guess instead of saying random hints, I could just say this puzzle does not have a 24 cube or a 2x2x2 inside it.

@Doubleyou Then this could be considered the first fully functional combination of two puzzles. Mechanicly, this puzzle is only a 48 cube. The only way to find a 2x2x2 or a 24 cube in it would be to actually glue pieces together. @D B Still waiting to know what the best lube is for wsf
