This is amazing that the parts work, great proof of concept! however the presentation is pretty horrible. I wonder what happened to his molds to make the parts so fugly?

Drew, it looks like his resin is going bad, making air bubbles in the part. So when he sands it exposes the air bubbles and fills them with black residue from the sanding.

Daqing Bao, your puzzles are all incredible. I would recommend finding a different casting resin, one that reduces bubbles.
We haven't seen any videos of any of your puzzles, yet. Any chance you could make one for this puzzle? 动态影像?
