It doesn't seem to have much corner cutting abilities.... Have you considered adapted the V-cube mechanism to your puzzle to improve the movement and speedsolving capabilities?

I think I figured out a really quick F1L solve for this already. OLL and PLL is a little tough tho.

4096 combinations with a couple of solutions. Not bad at all.
