Hello guys! So, this is my new mod I finished today, I called it the Wicked Cube. I'm very very satisfied by it and it's a lot better than what I thought it would looks like. I firstly wanted to call it «La Bébite», but I didn't liked it. The, the Contaminated cube, but it's too long to read and pronounce ^^. Then, the Monster Cube, but it's bad. And finally, the Wicked Cube (I kept it). For building it, I used the DIY A from Nices Puzzles, and, I also took 18 corners that I turned into real 1x1x1 cubies, so there is no holes or place with missing plastic. For a better quality, I used 3x3x3's stickers sets, also from Nices puzzles. So there is 126 stickers on it. When you look one side, you see all the same colour so it's pretty cool. I used the classic colour scheme It's hardest to solve then I classic 3x3x3 because it's confusing and two centres need orientation. So now here are some few photos and I hope you enjoy it! (Sorry there is no more photos because I had some difficulty to do clear photos) I'll post more pictures and a video, where you'll more see the shape, tomorrow I think. -Nikola

Haha! Simple and elegant! Do this to a 6x6 and have people really confused!

Awesome, now I have something to do with all those extra 1x1x1 pieces I have lying around.

This is a step that I wish more modders would do as it just makes the final puzzle look so much better. Sure it takes time, but it's the time and effort that makes for a nice clean build. This is a really great looking and interesting mod! I look forward to more pictures, showing the other sides if possible, and even scrambled!

Maybe you can make the extensions in a way that if the pieces are permuted and orientated correctly you can change the shape into an extended 3x3(Not necessarily(sp?) with correct colours)?

Is there a system/concept behind the extensions I am missing? Or did you just placed some cubies arbitrarily?

Neat idea, and a nice job. This concept might seem dumb at first thought, but really cool if you think it through.

Thanks everyone! Firstly, I want to say you that I won't be able to put more pictures today :S I'll need to wait 1 or 2 more days because I have a problem that I need to solve, and now there is missing stickers. As there is stickers «inside» the cube, they are «bumping» (I don't know if we say like that :s) So these are scratching, peeling... So the only way is that they stop bumping. Now, I'm sanding a little bit the cubie's side wich contain these stickers. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I'm hoping he will be ok. I was also thinking of making a waiting list so if they are people interested, PM me and if there are some, I'll make one =] Andreas Nortmann wrote: Is there a system/concept behind the extensions I am missing? Marco wrote: Maybe you can make the extensions in a way that if the pieces are permuted and orientated correctly you can change the shape into an extended 3x3(Not necessarily(sp?) with correct colours)? My first idea was to make a 3x3x5 extended, to scramble it into a nice shape and then to put stickers. So, I built a 3x3x5, I was searching a good shape, but, for the shape I found, there are two extended centers wich are not at the opposite so now, we can't put it back into a 3x3x5. So it's not 100% arbitrarily (thanks I learned a new word ) aliengrey wrote: So head on it looks like a 3x3 extended on all sides? Awesome job. Yop, but there is about 3 cubies on 4 side, 2 cubies on 1 side, and 4 cubies on 1 side also. Simon45 wrote: I really love it ! Very original ! You could also make this with a 5x5x5 !!! Maybe I'll do one a day The Professor Wicked Cube ^^ But if I do that, I think I'll cast the parts, because to but 50 corners it's about 50 dollars ^^ Sorry for the delay about the stickers, hope you won't be mad at me -Nikola

I'm sad to that but, the Wicked Cube will never be completed... Because the stickers inside are always peeling... So, instead of him borned a high quality extended 3x3x5. High quality because the cubies that are complete! Here are some pictures: -Nikola

Stickers inside?! Whoa. You really went all-out with that design, huh?
Well the extended 3x3x5 looks amazing nevertheless, nice build. And the wicked cube looked cool as well.

The stickers "inside" are the ones that can scrape against each other during rotation. Evil Twins experience a similar problem. I would have thought the rounded edges on this one would minimize peeling.

What about shaving a square shaped indent into those faces to sit the sticker in?
Could be done very carefully with a dremel or some sort of acid & template method.

It would be possible with the Sausage idea, but how difficult I'll put it on eBay this afternoon but, I don't know how to say something (in English). How can I say that I built «full» cubies (that they are like 1x1x1)? And about the two layers that don't turn, how can I say that? Thanks for all your messages, ideas and in advance for the answers of my spelling questions! -Nikola
