I cannot find my 3x3x3 and it was really good. I want to know what cube is the best cube to buy for speed cubing, and if you want... if you have any personal tidbits of what you do to it(i know this part is in other forums[thats not the main focus])...
I'm thinking about the assembly or the DIY but i don't know from where or the differences. I want the fastest cube i can get. so???

orrr search assembly cube, DIYKit or just talk to rubik who owns cube4you and look on their forum. the internet is a world of speedcubing information!! and searching is like asking a librarian.

They keep asking because they know you will search for them. Don't answer and make them search for them selves.

Go to puzzlepro on ebay. My brother bought one from there and I got some sub-40 records on that (I use the beginners method ok!)

no where in this thread have i asked where to get one, unless you count the implication between different cubes on different sites, i have only been asking if the more expensive cubes called "assembly cubes" rather than simply DIYs are better, and i figured someone here has bought both and had insightful information.

Thank you thank you thank you Pembo for finally answering the poor kid's question about "assembly cubes".

In his first post, he didn't say he didn't know where to find them. Here's my analysis of the situation.

08 researches cubes and sources online as he needs a new cube since he can't find his old one.

It is very confusing. There are several cubes at several places that may be good.

He has read enough at TwistyPuzzles to know that not all cubes are the same quality.

He doesn't have any family or friends that have bought cubes from any of the online shops. He doesn't know who to ask for advice.

Aha! There are lots of people that have bought from these online sources and they would know which shop is best to buy from. They would also know what the difference is between DIY and what some places he had researched calls "assembly" cubes.

So he asks for you guys to share what you know from your experience. He didn't want anyone to do research for him. He just figured you would know from experience without having to look things up.

i bought mine from PuzzleProz on ebay, it came in 3 days, and with some lube it worked great. my friend bought a speedcube from "cubefans" on ebay, for a little bit more money, but it was pre-lubed and assembled
