My friend got dumped by her boyfriend today so I searched around addictinggames.com for a game to play with her to get her mind off of her ex. I stumbled on this and thought about the sliding '15 puzzle'
Anyways, I was lazy and didn't bother planning moves out and finished it in 3475 moves and I'm sure I could get way below that if I wanted.
Anyways, just wanted to share.

I used to have a really nice stainless steal 15 puzzle. my record was like 19 seconds a year ago. I don't know where it is now.

Uf, I did it in 1404 moves, but I made several mistakes, it can be done whit less movements.
