In a webmining course I learned about this nice search engine that groups similar sites together:

You can see (and extend) the list of groups on the left. The search for "rubik" finds only two "person groups", Erno Rubik and our Georges

Btw, searching for "rubik" quickly finds "www.rubik-handschuhe.de" which in English means "rubik-gloves". Maybe I should buy some.

Another one that you might try is

I also occasionally used to use teoma.com but it's been assimilated into ask.com now. Then there is http://www.dogpile.com/ which is a nice metasearch engine, compiling the results of the top proper search engines.

All in all I just like returning to my firefox plugins or just using Google is the best for me. Simple but gets the job done.
